Tekken: Blood Vengeance to Run in U.S. Theaters in 3D


The North American anime distributor Bandai Entertainment announced on Tuesday that the Tekken: Blood Vengeance CG anime film will run in more than 375 American theaters in 3D on July 26 at 7:30 p.m. local time. In addition, Bandai Entertainment plans to release the DVD for this film based on Namco's fighting videogame franchise.
Bandai Entertainment is collaborating with NCM Fathom and Namco Bandai Games America on the theatrical screenings. The screening will include a 20-minute special with interviews with the Tekken project director and screenwriter. Bandai Entertainment and Fathom have worked together on the Sword of the Stranger and Eureka Seven - good night, sleep tight, young lovers film screenings, but the Tekken: Blood Vengeancescreening event is their first joint effort in 3D.
One of the new movie's producers is Tekken art director Yoshinari MizushimaDigital Frontier, the studio responsible for opening movie footage in the Tekken 5 and Tekken 6games as well as the Appleseed and Resident Evil: Degeneration films, is producing the new film with director Yōichi MōriDai Sato (CasshernCowboy BebopEureka Seven) wrote the script, and Shinji Higuchi (EvangelionGunbusterVandread) handled the storyboards.
